Indications Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis has been associated with several conditions in babies and children:
- Excessive crying and fussing (Colic in babies)
- Indigestion
It is indicated for:
- Improving immune health
- Respiratory problems
- Red, dry, and scaly skin in babies
Pharmacology Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis colonizes the digestive tract of infants and positively modulates intestinal microbiota composition. It enhances barrier function, inhibits pathogens, and supports immune interactions.

This probiotic exhibits strong survival in the gastrointestinal tract due to acid and bile tolerance and strong mucus adherence. It improves bowel function, protects against diarrhea, and reduces antibiotic-associated side effects. Clinical studies show improved resistance to respiratory infections and reduced incidence of acute respiratory tract infections.

It is naturally found in the milk of breastfeeding mothers and supports infant digestive comfort.

Dosage & Administration One sachet daily for 21 days helps reduce excessive crying and fussing in infants (≤12 weeks). It can be taken with milk or water, or as directed by a physician.

Interaction Antibiotics may reduce the effectiveness of Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis. To avoid this, take the probiotic at least two hours before or after antibiotics.

Contraindications Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation or related substances.

Side Effects Generally safe and well tolerated. Some individuals may experience mild gas or bloating.

Pregnancy & Lactation Probiotics are generally considered safe during pregnancy and lactation, supported by large scientific studies and recommendations from BabyCentre UK and the American Pregnancy Association. No known restrictions.
